At the heart of Amazon Studios’ television series are several comedies. The first comedy series green lit by the network was Alpha House, which follows four Republican senators who share a house together in Washington D.C. The series stars John Goodman. Mozart in the Jungle is another original series that follows the comedic exploits of the New York City Philharmonic Orchestra and one very unique conductor that seems better suited to be a rock star. Finally, Amazon Studio’s standout comedy is Transparent. This series details a very dysfunctional family whose patriarch decides to change his gender from a man into a woman. This series won a Golden Globe Award for best comedy television series.
