Watch TV Shows on Smithsonian Channel

Art, history, music and other patrons of culture and man's social condition will enjoy the programming presented by the Smithsonian Channel. The programming for the Smithsonian channel is based on the exhibits and collection of the collected Smithsonian museums based in Washington D.C. The channel has designed programming around each one of the museums and the exhibit and collections contained within each museum.

One show may be based on the Wright brother's first flight. Their aircraft is on display in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Another show could be based on the painting of Degas's "Little Dancer," which hangs on exhibit in the Smithsonian National Gallery of Art. The Smithsonian's vast collection provides the channel's viewer base a chance to learn more about the museum's collection as well as be presented with a program that has entertainment value.

The Smithsonian channel attempts to deliver its programming in a manner which audiences are able to enjoy as well as learn more about the presented subject manner. It is an excellent channel for educational purposes and has been used as part of educational curriculum in some schools.

The channel still attempts to present dramatic programming based of the historical relevance of the particular item within the museum's collection which is the subject of the programming. Tourist love the channel and it brings the museum into the living rooms of its viewers in a fun and interactive manner.
