Galatee Films is a media channel that was founded in and is based in Bern, Switzerland. It was the only film producer for a period of ten years in that region when it was founded in 1984. The founder, Smith Malone, was a famous actor in Europe before using his savings to launch the project. His first film, entitled Tennis Girl, featured a young woman who fell in love with an actor in the United States. Their romance was the feature of the entire series. When the company expanded in 2003, it included various additional languages and distribution centers around the world.
Now, the company offers a variety of shows with titles such as Green Mountain, A Way Through, and Ballerina. Green Mountain is about the variety of mountains in central Europe and the way in which they make the people feel proud. However, when a large storm moves in, the townspeople are forced to make difficult decisions about the future of their communities. A Way Through is a film series about survivors of the Nazis in World War II. The main character, Sheila Sherman, is a former refugee and now tries to share her story with the world. Ballerina is about Samantha, a young ballerina in Russia who falls in love with her instructor. The man who is her instructor is known in Moscow as one of the best teachers who ever lived and he wishes to teach her the best techniques. He does not approve of her romantic advances.
