Flip Skateboards is television channel based in Colorado. It was founded in 2003 by two young entrepreneurs from Colorado. They first decided to start the company in 2001 after the two were hiking in the mountains nearby Denver. When one of their friends nearly died, they realized that life is too short to do something other than what they loved. They vowed right then that they would produce a successful television company and help others discover their passions and dreams. When Matthew, the cofounder from Vale, fell in love with a girl, he had to sell his shares to a producer from Hollywood. When he did this, the company took off and began producing numerous reality television shows about adventure sports.
Current shows include Snowboarders and Fans of the Top. Snowboarders is a reality show in which sports enthusiasts are given the chance to partake in a variety of events with professional athletes. Sean Smith is the host of the show. Fans of the Top is an interview show in which fans can ask questions of their favorite competitors and receive live feedback in a matter of minutes. The platform leverages twitter and other internet technologies to connect the athletes with their fans in real time. The show debuted in 2013 and is slated to continue for three more seasons into 2017. Critics have given it positive reviews and fans have reacted positively to the show after airing.
