Hosted by Kingsley Glover of Visions of War, this program looks at the Zulu wars, in particular the Battle of Rorke's Drift in which 11 Victoria crosses were awarded to the defenders. Also in this program, take a tour of some of the wonderful treasures of the Stratford Armory and meet some of the people who keep the legacy of the Zulu wars alive.

In 1879 at the battle of Isandlwana, the British suffered a degrading defeat at the hands of a much lesser army - the Zulus. What could possibly have gone wrong? Was this momentous defeat that cost the lives of almost 1500 British soldiers caused by the arrogance of an Empire who grossly underestimated their opponent?
