Watch The Night Agent

The Night Agent is a political thriller drama series that premiered on Fox in 2022. The show centers around Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent who works the night shift monitoring wiretaps. Sutherland overhears a phone call related to a major politically-connected American family that draws him into a dangerous conspiracy.

The series begins with Sutherland listening in on calls to the White House switchboard one night. He hears a panicked woman calling and asking to urgently speak with someone in the administration, but she refuses to give her name to the operators. Sutherland traces the call and learns the woman is the niece of a powerful US Senator. Before he can investigate further, the FBI closes the case on orders from high up.

Sutherland realizes he has stumbled onto something big, possibly reaching to the very top levels of government. He finds evidence that the Senator's son was assassinated, despite the official cause of death being reported as accidental. Trying to find answers, Sutherland turns to some of the Senator's surviving inner circle. He builds alliances with the Senator's grieving sister as well as his estranged daughter. However, it soon becomes clear that Sutherland can trust no one. High-ranking FBI officials warn him to back off the case while he also becomes a target of an unknown team of assassins.

Caught in the middle of deep political intrigue, Sutherland works to expose the truth behind the Senator's death, while trying to stay alive. Tensions mount as the conspiracy climbs to the top of the DC power structure. Sutherland finds himself fighting powerful enemies embedded throughout the government who will stop at nothing to cover up what really happened.
