The Kids Are Alright is a modern family sitcom set in the 1970s that premiered on ABC in 2018. The show is loosely based on the creator Tim Doyle's own childhood experiences growing up in an Irish-Catholic family with eight siblings. The show follows the Cleary family, an Irish-Catholic family living in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. Mike and Peggy Cleary (played by Michael Cudlitz and Mary McCormack) are the parents of eight sons ranging from toddlers to teenagers. The kids are often trying to find their place in the world while living under the roof of a tight-knit and traditional family.
