Tarzan: Epic Adventures is an American action-adventure television series that premiered in 1996. Developed by Monarch Films, Inc, the show is based on the Tarzan novel series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Joe Lara plays the role of Tarzan, while Aaron Seville portrays his best friend and ally, N'kima.

The series follows the adventures of Tarzan, who was orphaned as an infant in the African jungle and raised by apes. He grows up to be a skilled hunter and survivalist, using his incredible strength, agility, and knowledge of the jungle to protect his home and defend his friends from various threats.

In the first episode, we see Tarzan living among the apes and hunting for food while avoiding a group of dangerous poachers who are trying to capture the animals in the jungle. During one of his hunts, he saves a young boy named Jason from a deadly snake bite. Jason becomes Tarzan's friend and ally, and they embark on many adventures together.

Throughout the series, Tarzan faces various challenges, including dealing with hostile tribes, rescuing kidnapped women, and fighting off dangerous animals like lions and crocodiles. He also comes across other human societies, including slave traders, treasure hunters, and even a civilization hidden deep in the jungle.

Tarzan's skills are put to the test in each episode as he uses his remarkable abilities to track down his enemies and save his friends. He is often accompanied by N'kima, his wise chimpanzee friend who provides comic relief in many scenes. The show also features a recurring villain named Count Raoul de Coude, who is obsessed with capturing Tarzan and claiming him as a trophy.

The show's biggest strength lies in its portrayal of Tarzan himself. Joe Lara's portrayal of the character is strong and authentic, capturing the spirit of the iconic jungle hero. He is portrayed as a fierce defender of his home and a protector of the jungle's inhabitants, and his unwavering courage and determination in the face of danger make him an inspiring figure.

The series also features some impressive practical effects and stunts, with Lara performing many of his own stunts. The action scenes are well-choreographed and thrilling, making for some exciting viewing.

Aside from the action, the show also explores the relationship between Tarzan and the other characters, particularly his friendship with Jason and his romance with Jane (played by Lydie Denier). These relationships give the show a sense of heart and provide a nice balance to the high-octane action scenes.

In summary, Tarzan: Epic Adventures is an entertaining, action-packed adventure series that does justice to the iconic character. Joe Lara delivers a strong performance as the titular hero, while the show's great action sequences and well-crafted relationships keep viewers engaged from start to finish. Fans of the character and the adventure genre as a whole should definitely check out this classic series.
