Spellfury is a fantasy-comedy web series created by Travis Gordon and starring Julie O'Halloran and Ian Quick. The show was released in 2008 and had a total of ten episodes. Set in a magical realm, Spellfury follows the story of a young witch named Sonja (played by O'Halloran) and a hapless wizard named Fleece (played by Quick) as they embark on various adventures and try to stop an evil sorcerer named Credenza.

The show begins with Sonja, a budding witch who dreams of becoming a powerful sorceress, arriving at the Spell Academy. However, Sonja accidentally breaks a valuable magic artifact in her first class and is forced to leave the academy. She then meets Fleece, a bumbling wizard who is also on the run from the academy after accidentally setting the dean's beard on fire. The two decide to team up and set out on a journey to find a way to restore Sonja's magical powers and stop Credenza, who has been causing chaos in the realm.

Each episode of Spellfury features a different adventure for Sonja and Fleece as they encounter various magical creatures, solve puzzles, and try to outsmart Credenza. Along the way, they are often aided by a helpful, but somewhat shady, thief named Dennis (played by Gordon) and a mysterious talking skull named Balthazar. The show's humor often comes from the interactions between the characters, with Fleece's clumsiness and Dennis' sarcasm providing many laughs.

One of the strengths of Spellfury is its creative world-building. The magical realm in which the show takes place is full of unique creatures and locations, such as a talking tree, a cave full of living crystals, and a castle made entirely of chocolate. The show's special effects, while somewhat low-budget, are used effectively to bring these locations and creatures to life.

Another notable aspect of Spellfury is its use of pop culture references. The show is full of nods to movies, TV shows, and video games, such as a scene in which the characters encounter a group of Elvis Presley impersonators or a puzzle involving a parody of the game "Simon Says". These references are integrated into the show in a way that feels organic and contributes to the overall humor.

Spellfury's cast is another strong point. O'Halloran and Quick have great chemistry as Sonja and Fleece, with O'Halloran bringing a sense of determination and optimism to the role and Quick providing plenty of physical comedy. Gordon is also entertaining as the snarky and street-smart Dennis, while Balthazar (voiced by Quick) adds a touch of mystery to the proceedings.

Overall, Spellfury is a fun and lighthearted web series that offers a unique take on the fantasy genre. While it may not have the polished special effects or complex storytelling of bigger-budget productions, it more than makes up for it with its creativity, humor, and charm. Whether you're a fan of magic, adventure, or comedy, Spellfury is definitely worth checking out.
