Noir is a Japanese anime television series that aired on TV Tokyo from April 2001 to September 2001. The show consists of twenty-six episodes and follows the story of two female assassins, Mireille Bouquet and Yumura Kirika, who are on a mission to uncover their pasts and the connection between them.

The show features a strong female cast, with the lead roles played by Houko Kuwashima and Kotono Mitsuishi as Mireille and Kirika, respectively. Aya Hisakawa and Tarako also join the cast as supporting characters. The series is known for its sleek animation, intense action sequences, and gripping plotline.

Mireille Bouquet is a professional assassin who is approached by a mysterious young girl named Kirika. Kirika has no memory of her past, but has a talent for killing that rivals Mireille's own skills. Together, they embark on a journey to uncover the truth about their pasts, which leads them down a dark path of conspiracy, betrayal, and violence.

Throughout the show, Mireille and Kirika find themselves in a cat-and-mouse game with their enemies, using their deadly skills to outsmart and defeat those who stand in their way. But as they get closer to the truth about their pasts, they realize that the secrets they uncover may be too dangerous to handle.

The show is notable for its unique portrayal of its female leads. Mireille and Kirika are complex characters with distinct personalities and motivations. Mireille is a confident and skilled assassin who holds a deep sadness within her heart. Kirika, on the other hand, is more reserved and analytical, often relying on her intuition and instincts to survive. Together, they form a powerful and dynamic duo.

The animation style of Noir is reminiscent of film noir, with its use of shadows, reflections, and stark lighting. The show's soundtrack is also a standout feature, with its use of haunting and eerie music to set the mood for each scene.

Overall, Noir is a gripping and intense anime that combines action, mystery, and drama into a thrilling package. Its unique portrayal of female characters, stunning animation, and unforgettable soundtrack make it a standout in the genre.
