However, things take a turn for the worse when they discover that the island is inhabited by a group of fierce warriors who challenge them to a series of battles. The ninjas must put their training to the test if they hope to make it through the weekend alive.
The third episode, "Elemental Rider," follows Jay as he tests out a new gadget that allows him to ride on lightning bolts. However, his joyride is cut short when he runs into a rival gang of riders who are causing chaos in Ninjago City. Jay must team up with his fellow ninjas to stop the riders and restore order to the city.
In "Blue Lightning," the fourth episode of the series, the ninjas must stop Lord Garmadon from using a powerful gemstone to take control of the city. However, to do so, they must first take on his army of mechanical dragons. The episode features epic battles and plenty of humor, making it one of the highlights of the series.
The fifth episode, "Samurai X-Treme," follows Nya as she takes on a new persona, Samurai X, to compete in a televised game show.
