Gav is a taxi driver. He's middle aged miserable and sarcastic. He lives with Matty, his landlord who is upbeat but shallow and intellectually limited. Matty has a girlfriend called Monica who is also shallow as well and clashes with Gav. The plots revolve round the secret hedonistic, nihilistic lifestyles of the great and the good in Newcastle that get taxis and Gav witnesses their behaviour.

3. Satanists Are Doing It For Themselves

After having a stressful day meeting with the security manager of the flats over neighbours making constant noise, Gav decides to take up the offer of going to a leaving do in a Greek restaurant with Matty and his sales rep workmates. He wishes though that he'd taken up the offer from Craig, his friend from the taxis to go to a satanic black mass evening instead and thus changes his plans.

Gav returns home from work to find that Matty and Monica still up and are excited about a business enterprise they're setting up. Trouble is, unbeknownst to Monica it involves them being financially tied in with one of the biggest psychopaths and felons on Tyneside who is well known to the police top brass but has a hold on them due to his knowledge of constabulary corruption down the years.

1. Four Wigs And A Funeral

After attending his Aunty's funeral and wake where there's several people there that he doesn't recognise , Gav goes back to the flat to settle down with landlord Matty to watch their favourite programme 'Crime Catchers' where CCTV footage is shown of real crimes in the area and people are encouraged to ring the programme's hotline with information. It's there he spots a familiar face.
