4. Sheffield to South Korea

British freestyle skier Pete Speight started his journey into freestyle skiing on dry slope ski slopes of the Sheffield Ski Village in South Yorkshire. The now redundant facility provided Pete with a platform to develop his skills, and gave him the opportunity to become part of a community - creating a pathway to represent his country at the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.

3. Walking the Fence

In 2007 Lindsey Cole was travelling in Australia when she broke her leg. Waiting for it to heal, she read "The Rabbit Proof Fence", a book detailing the journey of three young aboriginal girls who were forcibly removed from their families and placed in a settlement 1000 miles from home during the 1930's. Inspired by their story, Lindsey retraced their footsteps in 2016 unsupported in the outback.

Francesca Eyre is a mum of three and chalet owner based in Morzine in the French Alps. She originally moved to Morzine after a twist of fate led her to the mountains, when a pearl necklace that belonged to her late mum was retrieved after vanishing at an event. Having lost her sister and mother to illness within a few short years, Morzine provided Francesca with an opportunity for a fresh start.

In 1994, aged 50, former Financial Times Ski Correspondent, Arnie Wilson skied every single day for a year in 240 different resorts across 13 countries with his girlfriend, Lucy Dicker as the couple made their way into the Guinness Book of World Records. Shortly after their extraordinary adventure, tragedy struck. More than 20 years later, Arnie recounts his incredible and heartbreaking story.
