Chapter 1 begins in NY, 2067, with Destina, a young Latina, trapped between two worlds. When destruction becomes imminent, she needs to choose what path she will follow for the betterment or the detriment of humanity, with chances of any success being minute. Her relationships with her brother, arranged fiance and friends further complicate her world but also make her decisions all the more vital.
