3. An Open Challenge

During the last two episodes Fabian and Jorn have achieved a little first-hand experience with the thrills, pleasures, and challenges of hunting in Scotland. During this episode the two hunters are going to have their stalking skills further tested. The Red Deer in Scotland lives mostly on the treeless moors and accordingly they are much easier to see, but also much harder to approach.

While Fabian was lucky and got his Sika stag in the last episode, his friend Jorn is struggling to find one. His stalker Colin has been very good at finding small herds of the elusive deer, but no adult stags have been among them. Will Jorn's dream of bringing home a Sika head for his trophy wall come true?

We accompany two young German hunters on their first trip to Scotland. In the first episode, the two young hunters are introduced to the art of stalking and calling Sika stags. They learn the hard way how cunning an old Sika stag can be and how the stags are much harder to call out in the open than most other species of deer.
