6. Shoobop Gone/Flap Your Own Way

SHOOBOP GONE: Mi's favorite guitar is Shoobop. When Mi plays Shoobop, Mi finds so many things to sing about. And Shoobop helps Mi sing about Mi's feelings. Mi shows off the neck and frets of the guitar and all the things Mi loves best about Shoobop. But when Mi loses Shoobop, Mi can't find inspiration to sing without it. Re and Do do their best to help Mi. Music Learning: The parts of a guitar. FLAP YOUR OWN WAY: After working so hard, Do can finally fly! But Do wishes he could flap faster to fly light his best bird buddies Mi and Re. Maestro Moon says that everybirdie flaps at different speeds, just like tempos of songs. Some largo tempos are slow,like Do. Some allegro tempos are faster and some are really fast, called Presto. She encourages Do to flap his own way, at his own speed. MUSIC BLOSSOMS AND BLOOMS: Do, Re & Mi are taking the Flamingo-gos to Falsetto Forest for the blooming of the instruments. When Maestro Moon hears about the instruments they're getting, she tells them those are all the instruments in an orchesta. The birdies love that idea. They want to play just like an orchestra! But why doesn't the music they're playing sound like an orchestra? They took turns, but they must be missing something. This orchestra needs a conductor to blossom and bloom. Music Learning: The instruments in an orchestra, the role of conductor. VINE AND DANDY: It's a race through Falsetto Forest and Mi is determined to win. Mi always comes in first place, so Mi is used to winning. But this course is tricky and Mi keeps getting caught up in the vines. SING IT FORWARD: Mi and Re help Do organize his workshop. Is sure is messy! Good thing Re knows exactly where things are supposed to go. And Mi has another idea about what to do with some of the items. Mi encourages his friend to consider giving some of his away, especially to friends who the items remind him of most. Do, Re and Mi end up going down memory lane as Do remembers where he got some of his sentimental keepsakes in a Broadway-like musical. Music Learning: Elements of a musical DO, RE, REMEMBER MI?: Do, Re and Mi go grocery shopping for Mama Maddie so she can happily play hoptails with her chickies. Rest assured. A hummingbird never forgets! Mama gives them an unusual shopping list and they keep forgetting what they need when they get to the store. FLIGHT SCHOOL: Do is so excited to go to flying school,until he realizes his best bird buddies, Re and Mi aren't going with him. They already know how to fly. Do is nervous about flying in front of the other students,the chickies, especially Chester, who he imagines is good at everything. Flight school instructor Ferris will teach each of the birds to fly solo. It's OK to be nervous. Just get a song in your heart, and flap your wings. Do says he hurt his wing, so he can't fly. He'd rather watch. Chester's wing suddenly hurts too. Ferris sets out to find out if these birds really have owies or if they're just scared. Do learns that he's not the only bird who needs to face his fears to try to fly. Music Learning: Definiation of solo. RE THE BRAVE: Do, Re and Mi go camping and they can't wait to tell spooky stories about a Ghost Crow. Well, Do gets a little frightened. He doesn't like scary things. Re insists she's never afraid. She'll help Do be brave by singing with him. The campers hear a mysterious sound and set out to find out what's making it. It sorta sounds like a woodwind instrument, but a bit different, too. Suddenly, Re's not quite so brave anymore. Could it be the Ghost Crow? The answer is music to their ears. Music Learning: Woodwinds. COOLING TO THE BEAT: It's so hot, it's so so hot. And all Re wants to do is dance with the Fabulous Flamingo-gos, but her best bird buddies are too hot to move. Maybe they should dance on a different day. Today is a better day to sip smoothies. HA HA HUMMINGBIRD: Re loves to get a laugh and today she's gonna make ten birdies laugh--easier said than done when everyone is so distracted. Conga and Bongo just knock knock their drums at her knock knock jokes, the Fabulous Flamingo-gos are dancing and Pequena and the chickies miss their laughing cues. She likes being the center of attention. When she learns how to accent her joke with a musical "ba da bump" sting, she hopes she'll get some laughs. Everybirdie seems too busy to listen to her jokes and that makes her sad.Do and Mi hype up their "ha ha" hummingbird with a Birdie Bowl standup performance.
