Yeon Hee finally switches sides and helps Jung Woo on his case. The help she provides is substantial enough to win the case, but Jung Woo doesn't start his fight just yet. He prepares and wants to make sure all sides are covered. He arrests to protect Sun Ho's image towards his son, with the hopes of serving justice to his late wife. Joon Hyuk meets Ha Yeon after eight months of disappearance and is welcomed warmly.

Min Ho thinks Jung Woo was bluffing when he says he knows where Jennifer Lee is. The college ex-wife's case emerges, bringing Min Ho into a dangerous situation he worries would ruin his chances against Jung Woo's current dilemma. The prosecution searches the villa to prove Min Ho's involvement in Jennifer Lee's case, bringing more crimes.

Min Ho could be the man behind the crime, but he's still not the man behind bars. Jung Woo faces more sorrow and struggles after he finds out about the staged suicide of Sung Gyoo. Min Ho's father makes Min Ho decide whether he would live as Sun Ho and face charges or return to being Min Ho as the mastermind behind the most significant crimes to clear their company's name.

Ha Yeon tells his father not to cry because she knows that he didn't commit any crime. Jung Woo turns himself into the prosecution, demanding for a re-trial of his case that had been previously closed by Joon Hyuk. This backlashes at Joon Hyuk, which results in more damages that will make the possibility of the re-trial to become a more significant challenge for Jung Woo and his allies.

Min Ho is inches away from the lethal side of a sled hammer but doesn't seem to find the end of his life just yet. Jung Woo urges to find his missing daughter, while Joon Hyuk races to find the last key piece of evidence. Knowing that Jung Woo is the only person who can prove his innocence, Chul Sik puts all his trust in him as they run away from the police. As the prosecution has more evidence, Min Ho's days of freedom seem to be getting shorter and shorter.

The Chamyeong group seems to have turned their backs on Min Ho after the case now spotlights the conglomerate. Is it a price to pay for taking Sun Ho's place? The inmates have escaped the prison, and things look a little bit brighter for Jung Woo. However, after Min Ho's team try to hunt her down, Ha Yeon's life is in danger once again.

Eun Hye further helps Jung Woo on his case by taking on a mission to find more pieces of evidence. Jung Woo also finds his way around the prison, looking for the best escape route. Ha Yeon is getting better and is finally discharged from her hospitalization. Joon Hyuk is now in talks with Min Ho, and things seem to worsen for Ji Soo's survived husband and daughter's fate.

The chase continues as Min Ho gets word about Jung Woo's attempt to escape. Jung Woo meets a sick Ha Yeon but moves on away from her to protect her. Sung Gyoo finds their way out of the hospital, but a bloody Jung Woo is left behind. An unexpected surgery is conducted by a murderer in the prison's clinic, thanks to the resident doctor's help. Plans are now in talks amongst the inmates on how to help Jung Woo to get the justice he deserves.

Min Ho and Jung Woo put down their cards on the penitentiary rooftop. They question each other's life. The moment Ha Yeon's existence is part of the conversation, Jung Woo backs off and starts rethinking his plan. He's still persistent in escaping death row, but now that his memory has gone back, it becomes more challenging than he initially sorted it out to be. Sung Gyoo makes the wisest decision but finds himself in the middle of a search. Will Ha Yeon's whereabouts finally be uncovered?

Min Ho and Jung Woo finally meet again in prison, but Jung Woo claims not to remember who Min Ho is. Chul Sik finds out that the main reason why he's in the cell is because of Min Ho, but bottles up his anger to comply with Jung Woo's master plan. Yeon Hee is tempted to spill the beans to the police but holds her composure in front of Min Ho's father.

Ha Yeon happened to be with Sung Gyoo in his apartment while investigators search Jung Woo's left crime scene. Jung Woo recalls that there seemed to be someone who was at his home during the night of his murder, and he thinks he is the missing piece of the puzzle to commit the perfect crime. Another death adds to Min Ho's record, as more people discover who he is. Ha Yeon seems to be safe for now, but not a single proof of her life emerges just yet.

While other inmates love the free food and shelter the prison provides, Jung Woo is determined to get himself out. Min Ho discovered Eun Hye to be working on Jung Woo's case, which makes everything harder for her. Jung Woo finds out that Sung Gyoo only said what he said to prevent him from committing suicide. The prison life continues for Jung Woo, but new evidence unfolds on the other side of the prison cells.

As Eun Hye suspects that the new injuries that happened were no accident, she further investigates Jung Woo's case, hoping to find a connection. Joon Hyuk's involvement with the case further evolves as he seems to have switched sides. Tae Soo, Ji Soo's brother, presents evidence that further deepens the case. Min Ho slowly feels the need to worry, and desperation is starting to kick in.

Joon Hyuk visits Ji Soo on Ha Yeon's birthday to deliver a present. That present with a very important message serves as enough evidence to get him off the case and even incriminate himself for the crime. He acts carefully down the line. Eun Hye, who lost every case against Jung Woo, takes on her case in the hopes of winning for once. Her determination leads her to new clues that help them solve the mystery of Ji Soo and Ha Yeon's alleged murder.

Min Ho gets his hands dirty again after working with the jail guards in charge of Jung Woo. A pattern of when Jung Woo loses his memory seems to boggle Joon Hyuk's mind, which slowly makes him doubt his long-time partner and friend in the Prosecutors office. Eun Hye wants to know why Joon Hyuk works so hard on the case and gets an answer she doesn't expect. Jung Woo is left in confinement, which makes him remember more. Hopefully, it'd be enough to solve his current case.

Flashbacks of Jung Woo show how he makes his move trying to prove Min Ho's existence through gathering fingerprints. In prison, he also finds out about pictures of his wife Ji Soo with Min Ho, which is allegedly the reason why he killed his wife and daughter. The mystery of the murder continues, as Eun Hye and Joon Hyuk get on board Jung Woo's case. Could this other family murder be Min Ho's work, or is it Jung Woo's act of anger towards his cheating wife?

After enough evidence was found to incriminate Min Ho, he desperately stages a suicide that allows him to take his twin brother's identity. Prosecutor Jung Woo feels that the living Sun Ho is the criminal Min Ho. However, Min Ho's father Young Woon reveals that Min Ho is a burden to the Chamyung Group, which offends him. Upon Min Ho's realization that his cover's been blown, Jung Woo is now considered a threat to his case that needs to be exterminated.

Jung Woo is a prosecutor who lives an exciting life, fighting homicide crimes hands on. On his daughter's sixth birthday, he happens to deny a job offer that gets him locked up behind bars for reasons he can't seem to recall, after experiencing short term amnesia. He finds out from his fellow inmates that he killed his wife Ji Soo and daughter Ha Yeon. Dazed and confused, Jung Woo fights for his freedom.
