Day One is a science fiction drama series that aired on NBC from November 1989 to December 1989. The show was created by Carl Sagan, Steven Soter, and Ann Druyan, and it had a stellar cast including Brian Dennehy, David Strathairn, Michael Tucker, and Martin Landau. The series only lasted six episodes of approximately one hour each, and it was cancelled due to low ratings.

The show opens with an unexpected event that changes the course of human history. A signal from space is received by a group of scientists, and it is soon revealed that an intelligent civilization has sent this transmission. The scientists are shocked and excited by this discovery, and they set out to decipher the message and understand its implications.

The show follows the lives of the scientists and their families as they work together to make sense of the message from space. The characters have to navigate challenges both within and outside the team, and they also face ethical and moral dilemmas as they struggle to determine the best course of action to take. The show is a mix of science, drama, and romance, and it does an excellent job of balancing these elements.

Brian Dennehy plays Dan Fairchild, a scientist who is the head of the team that receives the signal. He is a brilliant researcher with a lot of experience in the field, but he is also a bit of a loose cannon. Dan is a complicated character with a big heart, and Dennehy performs the role with great skill.

David Strathairn plays Royce, a scientist who is more reserved and cautious than Dan. Royce is analytical and detail-oriented, and he is always looking for evidence to back up his theories. Strathairn delivers an excellent performance as Royce, and he brings a lot of depth to the character.

Michael Tucker plays Dr. Segal, the head of the laboratory where the scientists work. He is a brilliant and respected doctor who is both a mentor and a friend to the team. Tucker is charming and affable in the role, and he adds a lot of humor to the show.

Martin Landau plays Dr. Arnold Mayer, a scientist who is brought in to help decode the signal. He is a brilliant researcher with a lot of expertise in linguistics and communication. Landau is intense and engaging in the role, and he brings a lot of energy to the show.

Overall, Day One is an excellent series that should have lasted longer than six episodes. The show features a talented cast, a gripping story, and some excellent production values. It is a shame that the show was cancelled so quickly because it had the potential to be a classic in the science fiction genre. If you are a fan of science fiction or drama, then you should definitely give Day One a try. You will not be disappointed.

Ulises drives a car while Moreno points his gun at Rebeca from the back seat. They are heading toward Diskin's company headquarters. Meanwhile, Beth decides to take the first step toward rebelling against Diskin. She goes to meet Inspector Salvador and asks him to stop the magnate. However, the police officer does not have enough evidence and needs the neuroscientist to make an official statement, something that, just hours before the launch of Day One, Beth is unable to do. Ulises and Rebeca are locked by Diskin's security team inside a strange room. When Salvador returns to police headquarters, he learns of the attack with multiple victims at the Synchrotron, including the hitwoman. Ulises and Rebeca return to the start-up premises at night despite the police seal. They are going to retrieve an old car. They need it to get to the Synchrotron. Only with the powerful light of the electron accelerator will they be able to obtain the image of the nanochip hidden inside the contact lenses, which they now know are far more than an augmented reality device. That hidden chip is the proof they need to stop Diskin's launch, which is less than 24 hours away. They spend the night in the car in order to arrive at the facility early in the morning and sneak into one of its laboratories. Meanwhile, Biran has had to return wounded to her apartment. The young woman blames the killer who is pursuing them, the same motorcyclist who nearly ran Salvador over. Although Moreno wants to keep Rebeca in police custody, the reality is that there is not enough evidence, so the young woman is allowed to leave. Rebeca is in possession of the pen drive containing the copy of Pandora, but has no way of contacting Ulises. For that reason, she goes to the only place where Ulises can find her: the coworking space. And her plan works. Ulises wants to recover the pen drive after Paula's murder.
