B?ckstr?m is suspended, but still continues his private investigation with the help of his neighbor Edvin. Together, they head to the scout camp to confront Edwin's scout leader Haqvin, who turns out to have connections to both Jaidee and the skull's whereabouts.

B?ckstr?m is convinced that Jaidee faked her own death in connection with the tsunami, but the group is skeptical and B?ckstr?m lacks evidence of his theory. Ankan's strike is unsuccessful and she suspects someone in the police house has warned the robber league.

B?ckstr?m goes to Thailand to dig for the truth about Jaidee's life and death. At the same time, the investigative team in Stockholm is following a completely different track. They are convinced that Jaidee died in the tsunami and soon Mimi's husband is arrested.
