12. Episode 12

The wife of sir Wilsney, the British minister, has disappeared in Moscow. Wilsney himself considers her dead. Shapilin suggests that Alexey tries to talk to the minister at a reception at the embassy, the more so that Alexey's father Vladimir is also in danger. The minister agrees to help hoping only for Kazarin's honest word. Moreover it's necessary to understand why that ancient book's valuable.

11. Episode 11

Tanya suspects one of the Vasily Stalin's trusted friends Sergey Martynov to be connected to assasination attempts and tells Alexey about that. But Alexey's still offended and doesn't listen to Tany, and another assassination attempt takes place with a new fighter jet attack, who had exact coordinates. Now it is quite clear that the goal of the subversive group is the death of Stalin's children.

Shapilin is dissatisfied with Alexey's work, as some events constantly happen near him. Special department traces preparation of attempts on Stalin, but Kazarin gets to understand his daughter was the aim. Tanya's sent to a war front as a correspondent. While traveling with Vasya Stalin in his car, they get under shots of a German fighter jet. The driver dies, Tanya and Vasya miraculously survive.

Tanya comes back from her job trip, but doesn't show up home, staying at a hotel. Alexey gets the new case to investigate, while Stalin's daughter rests at her father's dacha. After Svetlana disappeares, Kazarin manages to find her with the famous screenwriter Alexey Kapler, who plans to departs for the war front soon. Varfolomeev's ready to visit the addresses of famous Moscow bibliophiles.

8. Episode 8

Tanya and Alexey get married, but after the loss of the child their relationship is tested again. Alexey wants to leave everything and go to the front, but he is ordered to become the personal guard of Stalin's daughter who arrived in Moscow. Varfolomeev, prisoned in a concentration camp, gets an order from a German officer to travel to Moscow and find a rare book in two months.

7. Episode 7

It turns out that Varfolomeev and Alexey's father've been living under false names for many years. Varfolomeev admits he's organized the theft and sale of diamonds and became the famous Baron. Alexey decides to let Varfolomeev-Speer go and gives him the diamond. For the first time Alexey's father Vladimir Kazarin tells him about the terrible events on November 1920 and what happened to his mother.

6. Episode 6
February 16, 2005
August 1941 of the WWII. Alexey, trained at a flight school with his friend Vasily Stalin, returns to Moscow and becomes an assistant commandant of the Kremlin. Shapilin's deputy Panin is killed in his office. An important document, Shapilin's personally responsible for the Kremlin valuables evacuation plan, disappears from the file. Shapilin orders Alexey to set investigation in three days.

Suspecting Kogan's connected to Baron and the Kremlin car robery, Alexey chases Kogan. Kogan notices Alexey's pursuit, sets him into the trap in a country house, where he ties him up, confirms his connection to car robery and informs he has his insider in the Kremlin. Kogan plans to set fire to the house with tied up Alexey, but he doesn't know that Alexey was also being watched the whole time.

Assumed that gypsies are the Kremlin car robery-related, Alexey meets the Gypsy circus acrobat Lilya. Meanwhile Tanya Shapilina, pretended to be a reporter, goes to the same circus to make her own investigation, but gypsies get to know her real intention and capture her. Getting to know Tanya is kiddnaped, her father makes a raid on gypsy baron Yakov's residence and saves Alexey and Tanya.

The Kremlin car carrying huge valuables is attaked. Alexey's father Vladimir Kazarin survives, gets into the hospital, and is being questioned as a suspect. Tanya Shapilina receives a luxurious present from her father . The case is bad: to the interrogators, Vladimir Kazarin is a criminal who doesn't want to confess. Alexey understands: his father's life is in danger, and only he can help him.

Alexey becomes a casual witness when a man comes to the Kogan's antique shop and offers diamonds for selling. From the Kremlin expert German Varfolomeev Alexey knows about Baron who stole the tsarist diamond collection and now sells it off. Alexey and Tanya start chasing the man from the shop thinking he's Baron. That man has a connecton to Lidiya Shmakova who was poisoned later.
