Filmed in Russia, the United States, Japan, China, Italy, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Great Britain and Sweden, Wings Over the World pulls together a series of mammoth proportions. Containing much previously unseen footage from around the world, each hour long documentary tells the story of 20th century flight as seen through the eyes of those who were boys at the time of the Wright brothers memorable first flight - boys who grew into the men who built world aviation. It has been over 30 years since the age of supersonic passenger travel was ushered in by Andre Turcat's flight of Concorde 001. However, he was not the first. Three months prior to his flight, the Soviet Union had powered its Tupolev TV144 into the air only to lose the supersonic lead with a dramatic, fatal accident at the Paris Air Show. This exciting story chronicles the Anglo-French cooperation, which resulted in a remarkable aircraft that is still in service today; the return of Russia to the SST scene; and also looks at the SST work of other countries. While some seem doomed to failure, others are set to carry supersonic development well into the 21st century.

Wings Over the World: Higher - Further - Faster is a 2007 documentary with a runtime of 51 minutes.
