Hubert Davis shows influences ranging from John Carpenter's THE THING to the British television show THE PRISONER as he films the desolate Wapusk National Park in Manitoba for Canada's National Parks Project. Mind-bending pops of color from the aurora borealis mix with illuminated paper lanterns and the dome tents that hold musicians Kathleen Edwards, Matt Mays and Sam Roberts during the shoot. The trio narrates the film by talking about their process for writing a song, as the result (a techno piece) builds in intensity. - Marilyn Ferdinand
