VIP-2, also known as Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, is a Tamil-language Indian action-comedy film that was released in 2017. Directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth and starring Dhanush and Kajol, it is the sequel to the 2014 film VIP. The movie picks up four years after the events of the first film, with the main character Raghuvaran (Dhanush) now married to his love interest from the first film, Shalini (Amala Paul). Raghuvaran is now a successful civil engineer working for Anitha Constructions, headed by the ruthless and powerful businesswoman, Vasundhara Parameshwar (Kajol).

Vasundhara offers Raghuvaran a position at her company, but he declines as he is content with his current job. This prompts Vasundhara to set out to crush Raghuvaran's career and reputation, leading to a series of confrontations between the two.

Meanwhile, Raghuvaran's brother-in-law is facing trouble with his business, and Raghuvaran is forced to leave his job in order to help him. This results in him starting his own construction company and taking on Vasundhara's firm in a battle for supremacy in the industry.

As the rivalry between Raghuvaran and Vasundhara intensifies, Raghuvaran must navigate through various challenges in order to emerge victorious. He receives support from his friends and family, including his mentor, Professor Ramamurthy, played by Samuthirakani.

The film features several action sequences, including a scene where Raghuvaran takes on a group of goons, as well as several comedic moments, particularly between Raghuvaran and his friend and sidekick, Azhagusundaram, played by Vivek.

Kajol delivers a strong performance as Vasundhara Parameshwar, showcasing her range as an actor in a South Indian film. Dhanush, as usual, delivers a nuanced and convincing performance as the protagonist, and his chemistry with Kajol is a highlight of the film.

The film's music, composed by Sean Roldan, is also noteworthy, with catchy songs that complement the film's tone and mood. The cinematography by Sameer Thahir captures the energy and vibrancy of Chennai and its people.
