This 2010 documentary film explores the connection between ayahuasca and various alternative mental states, as well as whether or not the drug, and those that frequently use and advocate it's use, should continue to bear such a bad reputation. In particular the film looks at the South American ayahuasca ceremonies, where the plant would be taken, generally in the form of tea, to induce visions and help those suffering from mental trauma not immediately remediated by more traditional Western medicine.
The film explores these various and complicated issues via personal vinettes of several different people whom are journeying into Peru to meet with the tribes who still carrying on the tradition of Ayahuasca.
