Ethan is a Brit who came to America with country star ambitions. While vacationing in Mexico, his girlfriend, Debbie, is kidnapped by some Mexican criminals. The rest of the movie is the obsessed man's effort to find her while fighting the anger and bigotry he begins to feel for all Mexicans. Even when he can not immediately find those responsible, he begins to believe that all people in Mexico are the same. His obsession with cowboys makes him want to act like one as he searches for her.
