The Templars were an evil sect of knights in the 1200s who were desperate to gain eternal life and willing to do anything it took to achieve it. This led them to kill wantonly so that they could drink victims' blood and offer their bodies as sacrifices. The Templars were caught and executed, and they were left to rot as crows pecked out their eyes, but in contemporary Portugal, travelers stumble upon the monastery where their remains are. They manage to bring these knights back to life, allowing them to begin their reign of terror again, this time as zombies.
