The Schoolgirl's Diary follows a teenage girl in North Korea who is struggling to accept her father's unbreakable devotion to his work as a scientific researcher. She and her family live in a run down home and find themselves without company from her father. The girl becomes rebellious as a way to express her feelings of abandonment, but soon comes to terms with the reality of her father's achievements as she tunes into the inner workings of life as an adult.
