Watch The Saga of Gosta Berling

A man of the cloth delves into territory where he ought not. After a series of fiery sermons, he is defrocked and sent away from his home parish. He happens upon the manor of a desperate young woman who is the owner of a vast fortune. The woman's name is Elizabeth (Greta Garbo), and she is no ordinary shut-in. The wayward priest is hired to be a tutor for Elizabeth's stepdaughter. While doing his best to give the child an education, Elizabeth hatches a maniacal plan involving the priest in a capacity that he is ill-equipped to fulfill.
