The Rohl Farms Haunting is a horror film directed by Cordero Roman and released in 2013. The movie follows a group of paranormal investigators who decide to investigate the Rohl Farms, a supposedly haunted property located in North Dakota. The story begins with the group, consisting of two researchers and a cameraman, arriving at the farm at night. The team is led by Luke Rohl, who is the owner of the property and claims to have experienced strange phenomena there in the past. As they start their investigation, they quickly discover that there is indeed something sinister going on at the farm.
The first night is relatively uneventful, with the team setting up cameras and audio equipment all over the property. However, as they review the footage the next day, they start to notice some strange occurrences. The audio recordings contain unexplainable noises, and some of the cameras capture strange movements and shadows.
As the investigation progresses, the team members start experiencing increasingly intense paranormal activity. They hear unexplained footsteps, doors slamming shut, and see apparitions moving around the property. The filmmakers do an excellent job of building suspense, and the audience will find themselves on the edge of their seats as the investigators try to make sense of what is happening.
The film also does an excellent job of tying the haunting to the history of the property. The Rohl family has a dark past, with several members of the family dying under mysterious circumstances. The team uncovers old documents and family photos that reveal the disturbing history of the farm, and connect the paranormal activity to these tragic events.
The acting in the movie is generally solid, with Luke Rohl doing an especially convincing job as the haunted property owner. Cordero Roman also delivers a solid performance as the lead investigator, and Lanny Fitterer is effective as the cameraman.
One of the film's shortcomings is its low-budget graphics. While the paranormal activity is effectively creepy, the computer-generated effects used to create the apparitions occasionally look a bit cheap. However, this is a minor flaw that doesn't detract from the overall creepy atmosphere of the movie.
Overall, The Rohl Farms Haunting is a solid horror film that will appeal to fans of the genre. The filmmakers do an excellent job of building tension and suspense, and the backstory of the property adds an extra layer of depth to the horror. While the low-budget effects occasionally fall short, the film delivers on its promise of a chilling ghost story.
The Rohl Farms Haunting is a 2013 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.4.
