The Righteous and the Wicked is a modern, Indie western film. It’s filled with all the perks (and foibles) of its respective genres. You can expect gun-toting madmen, firefights, overwrought dialogue and plenty of riding into the sunset… right? More or less. Throw in a slighted Man of God with a vigilante streak a mile wide and a hefty taste for vengeance, and you know just what to expect.
If you’re looking for a bullet-riddled romp through the good ol’ days, and don’t mind some B-minus acting, budgets and more clichés than can fill an apple-bucket, then this film is for you. Or, if you’re just a fan of overlooked independent films, or westerns in general, then this is certainly worth a look, but it has limited appeal to anyone outside its niche market.
The Righteous and the Wicked is a 2011 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.5.
