The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery is a high-energy, action-packed adventure movie targeted at pre-adolescent children. It follows the story of three best friends: Tucker, a science geek played by Garrett Ryan; Maya, an aspiring journalist played by Haley Tju; and Sebastian, a budding chef played by Adam Hochstetter. The story revolves around a mysterious food-contamination incident at their school's cafeteria, which causes all students to become ill with a strange illness. The school's principal, Mrs. Jordan (played by Lela Brown), is quick to dismiss it as a mere stomach bug, but Tucker suspects something more sinister is happening. With the help of Maya and Sebastian, Tucker embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind the mass illness.
Their investigation takes them on a wild and often hilarious journey through the school as they try to gather evidence and piece together clues. They interview suspicious characters, including the school janitor and the head lunch lady, and embark on stakeouts to catch the culprit in the act.
The three friends soon realize they have a bigger problem on their hands when they discover that the school's science lab has been broken into, and various dangerous chemicals have gone missing. With the help of the school's computer lab, they begin to decode encrypted messages and hack into the criminal's computer system to find out more about this nefarious plot.
As the plot thickens, the trio finds themselves in increasingly dangerous situations. They sneak into the school's air ducts, come face to face with the school's bully, and find themselves trapped in a closet with a gas leak. Despite these obstacles, they never waver in their quest for the truth.
