The Killing Ground is a documentary film that was released in 1979. The film was directed by Steve Singer. The film focuses on the environmental effects, as well as the health effects, toxic waste dumps in Niagara, New York, and other locations have on humans. In 1978, deadly chemicals had seeped out into an abandoned waste dump. This dump, called the Love Canal, was blamed for many health problems humans were caused after the event had occurred. These problems ranged from nervous disorders to birth defects. The film gives viewers insight into the potential harm that can be caused by these waste sites.
