In a remote mountain village in Southern China, Guang is raised by his grandfather after his parents leave for migrant work and never return. Their fragile livelihood depends on a single cow. When the cow disappears, first during Guang's childhood and again ten years later, the searches force him to confront absence, responsibility, and loss as he is pushed toward adulthood.
