The Bride and the Beast is a 1958 horror movie directed by Adrian Weiss. It is a B-movie that focuses on the story of a woman named Laura who marries a man named Dan Fuller, who lives in a remote jungle with his family. However, things take a turn for the worse when Laura learns that her husband and his family have a dark secret. The movie begins with Laura, a young woman who is about to get married to Dan Fuller. As she travels to his remote jungle home, she is warned by a local guide that the Fullers are strange people who keep to themselves. However, Laura is undaunted and is excited to begin her new life with Dan.
Upon arriving at the Fuller home, Laura meets Dan's family, including his mother, his brother and his sister. She is also introduced to an enormous gorilla that the family keeps as a pet. Laura is shocked by the sight of the gorilla but is soon told by Dan that it is harmless and friendly.
Things at the Fuller home seem normal at first, but Laura soon starts to notice strange things happening. The family members seem to be hiding something, and she hears strange noises at night. Laura also starts to feel a strange attraction towards the gorilla, which she finds confusing and unsettling.
As the movie progresses, Laura slowly uncovers the Fullers' dark secret. She discovers that they are actually a family of shape-shifters, who can transform into gorillas at will. Dan and his family keep the gorilla as a pet and use it to lure unsuspecting travelers into their home.
Laura is initially shocked by this revelation but soon realizes that she too has the ability to transform into a gorilla. She decides to embrace her new family and her new powers, and the movie ends with Laura living happily ever after with the Fullers.
The Bride and the Beast is a classic B-horror movie that is enjoyable for fans of the genre. It has all the elements that one would expect from a horror movie of its time, including a remote jungle setting, a large gorilla, and a dark family secret. The acting is not particularly great, but it adds to the charm of the movie.
The highlight of The Bride and the Beast is undoubtedly the gorilla. The movie features a real gorilla that is used in several scenes, and it is impressive to see how well-trained the animal is. The gorilla is shown doing all sorts of things, including playing the piano and drinking beer, which adds to the film's entertainment value.
The Bride and the Beast also has some interesting themes, including the idea of transformation and the conflict between human and animal instincts. The characters in the movie all struggle with these themes in their own way, and it adds some depth to the otherwise shallow plot.
Overall, The Bride and the Beast is a fun and entertaining horror movie that is worth a watch for fans of the genre. It is not a classic by any means, but it has some enjoyable moments and some interesting themes. If you are looking for a quick and easy horror movie to watch, then The Bride and the Beast is definitely worth checking out.
The Bride and the Beast is a 1958 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 18 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.4.
