John Vandermark (Cumming) is a music teacher with a weakness for young men with great aspirations. When he meets struggling writer Sebastian St. Germain (Boreanaz) he offers to take him in. But, Sebastian makes it clear he has no interest in John and overstays his welcome. Feeling his charity has been taken for granted, John snaps and holds Sebastian and his work hostage. When Sebastian's book is published, John takes the credit... which comes back to haunt him.
