Streetwise is a gritty documentary by director Martin Bell that traces the lives of runaways living on the streets of Seattle. The documentary was prompted by a 1983 article in Life Magazine entitled Streets of the Lost written by Cheryl McCall and photographed by Mary Ellen Mark. Following the lives of several homeless teenagers, the film focuses on a 14-year-old prostitute who goes by the name of Tiny. Eight other teenaged survivors fighting for life and love on the downtown streets are also portrayed in the documentary.
