Squatter is a drama-thriller movie that was released in 2012, directed by Jimmy Tyson and written by Caddy Shieh. The movie tells the story of a young couple, Adam (Jay Reddic) and Anna (Christa Qiin), who move into an abandoned house in a run-down neighborhood in Los Angeles. Adam, a struggling writer, convinces Anna, a talented artist, that living in this house will provide them with a cheap and inspiring environment to work on their art. However, they soon realize that they are not alone in the house. A homeless man, Willie (Marc Gardner), is living there and refuses to leave.

Despite the initial tension between the couple and Willie, they soon form a bond as they learn more about each other's pasts, fears, and dreams. Willie tells them about his life, how he ended up on the streets and the struggles he faces every day. Anna and Adam, in turn, share their own struggles and hopes with Willie.

As the trio becomes closer, they start to face challenges from the outside world. The police, the local residents, and even gangs in the neighborhood threaten their peaceful existence. The situation is further complicated when Adam's friend, a drug addict named Vincent (Vincent Vincanity Horiuchi), shows up at the house and brings his own problems with him.

The movie portrays the struggles of the marginalized and overlooked members of society through the characters of Willie and Vincent. It also touches on themes such as gentrification and the conflict between the artistic and economic aspects of urban development.

The performances of the main cast are convincing, with Reddic and Qiin delivering heartfelt performances as Adam and Anna. Gardner's portrayal of Willie is both moving and powerful, and he brings depth to a character who could have easily been reduced to a stereotype.

The cinematography is another strong point of the movie. The dark, gritty atmosphere of the neighborhood is captured well, and the camera work effectively conveys the sense of claustrophobia and unease that permeates the story.

Overall, Squatter is a thought-provoking and emotional movie that explores the human connection and struggle for survival in the face of adversity.
