During the Vietnam War the Mobile Riverine Force (MRF) patrolled thousands of miles of Viet Cong infested waterways in the Mekong Delta. To counter enemy ambushes from fortifications built along the riverbanks, the navy considered an ominous solution, the employment of flamethrowers on US riverine craft. Riverine Inferno is the story of Monitor M-92-2, which was converted into a "Zippo" Monitor by covering over the 81-mm Mortar well and installing two M10-8 Flamethrowers aft of the 40mm main gun turret. This vintage 8mm film was shot in early 1969 by RIVRON 9 Veterans John McLaughlin and Tom Wipf. What makes this film unique is that you experience most of the action from the gun mount. You can actually hear empty 40mm Bofors shell casings hitting the deck during an intense firefight scene!

Riverine Inferno is a 2007 war movie with a runtime of 20 minutes.
