Research: Paranormal - Children at Play is a horror movie in which an investigative team tries to unravel the mystery surrounding a haunted playground. The team is made up of Andrew (played by Michael J Roberts), a cameraman looking to make a name for himself, and his friends Kevin (played by Jason Ciancola), a sound engineer, and Rachel, the producer of the team. The group sets out to film a documentary about the paranormal activities that have been reported at the playground, believed to be caused by spirits of children who died in a tragic accident there.

As they set up their equipment and begin filming, strange occurrences start to happen. The swing sets begin to move on their own, and the team hears the laughter of children even though there are none around. As the night goes on, the team experiences more and more frightening events, such as objects moving by themselves and ghostly apparitions appearing on camera.

Throughout the course of the movie, the team interviews locals who live near the playground, and uncover a dark history surrounding it. One resident tells them that the playground was built over a cemetery where children who died from a disease were buried. Others talk about hearing children's laughter and screams coming from the playground at night. With each interview, the team becomes more and more convinced that the playground is indeed haunted.

As the night progresses, the team notices a little girl playing on the swings, and they approach her to ask her some questions. However, the girl speaks in a creepy, otherworldly voice, telling them to leave the playground before it's too late. The team is unnerved by this encounter, but they continue filming, determined to capture any evidence of paranormal activity.

As the night wears on, the team's equipment begins to malfunction, and strange symbols appear on the ground. They eventually discover an underground chamber beneath the playground, where they believe the spirits of the children are trapped. But when they try to communicate with the spirits, things take a turn for the worse.

Research: Paranormal - Children at Play builds up the tension well, with a number of jump scares and unsettling moments. The acting is solid, with Michael J Roberts and Jason Ciancola giving good performances as the intrepid investigators. The movie is shot in a found-footage style, which adds to the realism of the events unfolding on screen.

One of the strengths of the movie is how it gradually builds up the suspense, with the team initially unconvinced about the existence of ghosts before gradually becoming more and more convinced as they witness more paranormal activity. This slow burn approach makes the eventual payoff all the more satisfying.

On the downside, some viewers may find the movie predictable, with a number of horror movie cliches present, such as the group splitting up and exploring the haunted playground alone. Additionally, some of the CGI effects used towards the end of the movie are not particularly convincing.

Overall, Research: Paranormal - Children at Play is a solid horror movie that will appeal to fans of the genre. It's a fun ride that offers some good scares and a creepy atmosphere, even if it doesn't break any new ground. If you're looking for a well-made found-footage horror flick to watch on a dark night, this is definitely worth a look.
