Since the 1920's, Independence, Kansas, has celebrated Halloween with its Neewollah festival. In October, Neewollah with Broadway play, carnival, marching bands, and Queen Neela beauty pageant, brings the sleepy town to life. Neewollah is the story of Zach and Dustin, two stranded city guys, their infatuation with Kendal, a precocious teenage-photographer, and the quirky locals they meet.
