Make it Happen is about a hip-hop dancer, Lauryn Kirk, who leaves home to pursue her dream of dancing at the Chicago School of Music and Dance. After a disappointing audition, she finds herself stuck in Chicago, drowning her sorrows at a diner scared to return home. After discovering her car has been towed, a waitress she met at the diner offers her a place to stay when she sees Lauryn standing in the rain. The next day, Dana, the waitress, takes Lauryn to a club where she gets a job as a bookkeeper and unexpectedly becomes a star.
