As revolution is brewing in the British-controlled India, a freedom fighter finds forbidden love with a girl outside of his tribe, religion, and social status. Ram Kori and Chand Bibi marry and begin their life together even as their country begins its social upheaval. They will find that the new social system is even more disapproving of their relationship than the last. The result is a society at its most chaotic and convulsive.
