King Arthur and the Knights of Justice is an animated television series that aired from 1992 to 1995. The show is set in Camelot, a fantasy world inspired by the myth of King Arthur and the Round Table. In this world, the realm is under siege by the evil sorceress Morgana and her minions, who seek to take over the kingdom and enslave the people.

The first episode, titled "Opening Kick-Off," introduces the series' premise and main characters. The story begins with a group of high school football players heading to practice. Suddenly, a freak storm transports them to a mystical realm, where they find themselves face to face with King Arthur and his knights. The king explains that they have been summoned by Merlin, the wizard of Camelot, to save the kingdom from Morgana's tyranny.

The football players are initially skeptical of the knight's story, but soon realize that they are not in their own world anymore. They are shocked to see castles and unicorns and realize they need to help Camelot since they can't return to their world. Their surroundings are not like anything they've ever seen before – it’s a completely new world.

The king shows the football players the champion's armor, which he describes as an integral part of their mission. Only someone wearing the armor can defeat Morgana's champions and restore peace to Camelot. The King and Merlin explain that the armor was originally worn by Arthur and his original Knights of the Round Table but due to unforeseen circumstances, they are unable to complete the mission.

At this point, the show transitions to a football game, which serves as the setting for some quick exposition. Merlin explains to the players that each of them has been selected for their unique skills: quarterback Arthur "Artie" King (who resembles King Arthur in appearance), wide receiver Galahad, and offensive lineman Sir Bors, among others. They will need to combine their talents to defeat Morgana's champions.

Merlin shows them a vision of the kingdom under siege; the townspeople, the king, and his knights all helpless against the forces of Morgana. The players realize that this world needs them now more than ever.

The game then flies off the rails as a bolt of lightning strikes the football and the King of the Darklands, Morgath, appears. He challenges Arthur and his knights to play against his team in a series of games, with the fate of Camelot hanging in the balance. If Morgath's champions win, Morgana will continue to rule Camelot with an iron fist. However, if Arthur and his team emerge victorious, they will gain a chance to reclaim the champion's armor and defeat Morgana once and for all.

The first game begins, and it quickly becomes apparent that Arthur and his team are outmatched. Morgath's champions are using trickery and magic to cheat their way to victory. However, the players are not aware of the magic, and they struggle on the field, confused about what is going on. During the game, one of the players sees an owl in the stadium; it serves as a peace of advice from Merlin.

The game ends with Arthur's team losing and Morgath gloating, but instead of being defeated, Arthur and his team decide to stay and train with the Knights. The episode ends with the promise of future games and adventures that will bring Arthur and his team closer to their goal of saving Camelot.

Overall, the first episode of King Arthur and the Knights of Justice sets up a promising storyline and introduces the viewer to an engaging world of fantasy and adventure. This kick-off episode serves as an exciting introduction to the series, and leaves the audience eager to see what kind of magic and mystery will unfold in future episodes.
