Kerala Varma Pazhassiraja is a Malayalam film, directed by Hariharan, written by MT Vasudenvan Nair and starring Mammootty in the lead role. Set in 1796, it revolves around Kerala Varma, the king of Pazassi Palace of Kottayam House, and the leader of the revolt against the colonisers. The film won the National Award for Best Background Score, Audiography and the Special Jury Award for Padmapriya.
