Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical comedy which was released in the year 1999. The movie is an adaptation of the musical production of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The movie stars Donny Osmond, Joan Collins, Richard Attenborough, Robert Torti, and Maria Friedman in significant roles. The movie follows the story of Joseph, who is the favorite son of Jacob. Joseph is gifted with the ability to interpret dreams, which lands him in trouble with his brothers. The brothers become jealous of Joseph and sell him into slavery.

Joseph ends up in Egypt as a slave to Potiphar, where he gains fame for his ability to interpret dreams. But he is wrongly accused by Potiphar's wife of trying to seduce her, and he is thrown into prison.

Joseph is called upon to interpret Pharaoh's dreams, which he does successfully. Pharaoh is greatly impressed by Joseph and appoints him as his advisor.

Joseph's interpretation of the dreams foretells seven years of plenty and seven years of famine in the land of Egypt. Based on this, Pharaoh asks Joseph to manage the land during the years of plenty so that they can prepare for the years of famine. Joseph successfully manages the land and saves the people of Egypt from starvation during the years of famine.

Back in Canaan, Joseph's brothers and father are also suffering from the famine. They hear about the abundance of food in Egypt and travel there to seek help. When they meet Joseph, they do not recognize him as he has become a great man in Egypt. Joseph recognizes them and sets out to teach them a lesson about forgiveness and redemption.

The movie is a musical comedy, and it features a variety of musical styles, including pop, rock, and country. Donny Osmond plays the lead role of Joseph, and he does an excellent job of portraying the character's emotional journey. Joan Collins plays the role of Potiphar's wife, and she brings the right amount of glamour and drama to the character. Richard Attenborough plays the dual roles of Jacob and the Pharaoh, and he brings his trademark gravitas to the movie.
