There is a skinny, yet good-looking waitress working at a greasy spoon who is secretly very sad, looking for love in a small-town environment that is dim and rather hopeless. This is when Johnny, the waitress, meets Krassky. Johnny develops an affinity for Krassky, who is a garbage truck driver. Johnny's boss Boris warns her that Krassky is gay. What both Johnny and Krassky don't plan for is how Padovan, Krassky's lover, will react. After getting kicked out of a few various motels, Johnny and Krassky split up, and ultimately Krassky returns to his original lover, Padovan--after arguing with Johnny.
