Heist is a 2015 action thriller directed by Scott Mann and starring Robert De Niro, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Dave Bautista. The film follows a group of professional thieves who come together to pull off a daring heist of a heavily guarded casino in order to pay off a debt to a ruthless gangster. The plot centers around Luke Vaughn (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a father and former boxer who is struggling to make ends meet. He works as a driver for Phillip Davis (played by Robert De Niro), a wealthy casino owner who is secretly planning a major heist of his own casino. Phillip has arranged for a group of veteran thieves to carry out the robbery, but he needs someone on the inside to help them get past the security measures.
Phillip offers Luke a share of the heist in exchange for his help, but Luke is hesitant to get involved. He eventually agrees, however, when he realizes that the money he stands to make could help him provide for his daughter.
The heist plan is well thought out and complex, and involves a number of different components. The team must acquire a key card to get into the vault, hack into the casino's surveillance system, and take out a series of security guards in order to get to their target.
Things initially go smoothly, but the team soon runs into complications. One of the security guards turns out to be much tougher than expected, and one of the thieves is killed in a shootout. The situation quickly spirals out of control, and the remaining members of the team must improvise and adapt if they want to make it out alive.
Throughout the film, there are also a number of subplots involving the different characters. We learn about their backgrounds and motivations, and see how their lives are affected by the heist. In particular, we see how Luke struggles to reconcile his desire to provide for his daughter with his moral qualms about stealing from the casino.
The action sequences in Heist are tense and well choreographed, with plenty of shootouts, chases, and close calls. The film also features a strong cast, with Robert De Niro giving a solid performance as the calculating casino owner, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan carrying the film as the conflicted protagonist. Overall, Heist is an entertaining and thrilling action film that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
