Gun Caliber is a Japanese indie action film released in 2017. It is directed by a filmmaker named Bun and has been distributed by the company SRS Cinema LLC. The story of Gun Caliber revolves around a young woman named Kyoko (played by Sakura Fujiwara), who is trying to find her father's murderer. Her father, who was a well-respected police officer, was killed by a mysterious group of criminals who are trying to take over the city. Kyoko is bent on avenging her father's death and bringing the criminals to justice.

Kyoko is aided in her quest by a cast of eccentric characters, including Gun Caliber (played by Joey Min), a superhero-like figure who wears a costume reminiscent of both Deadpool and RoboCop. Gun Caliber is a vigilante who takes the law into his own hands and fights crime in the violent and dangerous streets of the city. Despite his dominance in combat, Gun Caliber is a flawed and deeply troubled character with a dark past, and his motivations for helping Kyoko are not entirely pure.

The two are also joined by a group of female warriors called the Gun Girlz, who are also seeking to take down the criminal gang that killed Kyoko's father. The Gun Girlz include characters like Ai (played by Yuyu Umenaga), a skilled martial artist who wields a pair of sai; Sailor (played by Reiko Fujiwara), who fights with a rod; and Maria (played by Daisuke Narumi), who has a gun arm.

The team must navigate through a series of violent and bloody battles against the criminal gang, with each new fight becoming more challenging and dangerous than the last. The gang is composed of skilled assassins with unique talents, such as the sharpshooter Death Shadow, the powerful and ruthless Iron Lotus, and the twisted and creepy Dollmaker.

Gun Caliber's storyline is scattered but entertaining, with its wacky, irreverent tone more akin to a comic book than a traditional action film. There is a surreal and psychedelic element to the film that balances out the violent and bloody action. The characters are all over-the-top, from Gun Caliber's Deadpool-like gags to Dollmaker's creepy doll fetish, but that's part of the fun.

The film's low-budget nature is apparent and sometimes works to its advantage, giving it a certain charm that larger productions sometimes lack. The special effects and stunts are also impressive, considering the limitations of the budget. There is a lot of blood, gore, and violence in the film, with creative kills and insane set pieces that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The film's soundtrack is also worth noting, with a mix of adrenaline-pumping techno beats and more rock-inspired tracks. The visuals and sound design are both outstanding, with colorful neon lighting and creative camera angles that add to the film's chaotic and surreal vibe.

One of the film's drawbacks is its uneven pacing, with some scenes dragging on longer than necessary and other scenes moving too quickly. The lack of a cohesive narrative can also be challenging for viewers who are not familiar with the film's comic book-inspired world.

Overall, Gun Caliber is a fun and entertaining indie action flick that doesn't take itself too seriously. The film's mix of humor, violence, and psychedelic visuals make for a unique and exciting viewing experience. While it might not be for everyone, fans of low-budget indie films and comic book-inspired action should check out Gun Caliber.
