A cantankerous librarian reluctantly joins forces with a red-blooded, All-American boy and his bodacious grandmother to lead their isolated coastal village into a ruthless scuffle with a Ghoul from Hell! A tardy entry to the 1950s horror genre, "Ghoul from the Tidal Pool" is the amazing result of a tiny Oregon coastal village coming together to make their very first movie, have fun, and increase their sense of community. "Ghoul from the Tidal Pool" is undoubtedly the most horrible movie ever made, but hard as it is to imagine, it had humble beginnings. In 2007 Burgundy Featherkile had the misfortune of acquiring a modestly ugly star-shaped tin candle holder-a white elephant marring an otherwise enjoyable Christmas party. What to do with such perfect ugliness? Fresh from reading Robert Rodriguez' "Rebel without a Crew", Featherkile thought the obvious answer was, "Make a horror movie with the star featured as the star." And so, with a zero budget and absolutely no experience in the herding of chipmunks, Featherkile plunged into the murky world of cinema. Using just-in-time and sometimes almost-in-time production methods, her loyal crew of volunteers scouted locations, evaluated ooze, shanghaied unsuspecting pseudo-actors, and had an incredible amount of fun in making what is certain to be remembered as the slimiest movie ever made in Yachats. It takes a whole village to raise a film, and Yachats has proved a praiseworthy parent. The Ghoul takes incredulity to new heights, and Yachatians are popping their buttons with pride in their accomplishment.
