In Fixer Upper Mysteries: Framed for Murder, the audience is introduced to Shannon Hughes (played by Jewel Kilcher), a home renovator and designer who takes on more than just home projects. Shannon has a talent for solving crimes, especially those that are connected to property remodeling. A new case arises when a homeowner reaches out to Shannon for help with a renovation project, only to end up murdered days later.
The film takes place in the idyllic town of Lighthouse Cove, where Shannon is well known and respected for her work. She's approached by a young couple who have just purchased an older home in the area, hoping to turn it into a bed and breakfast. This couple, Brian (played by Colin Ferguson) and his girlfriend, Kate (played by Erin Karpluk), know that the home needs significant renovations and ask Shannon for her expertise.
Shannon starts working on the project, but things start to take a dark turn when Brian is found dead in the house after a possible break-in. Kate is immediately suspected of the crime, but Shannon is convinced that she's innocent. However, Kate's behavior is making it difficult for Shannon to defend her, and Shannon knows that she has to find the real killer if she wants to clear Kate's name.
Shannon starts investigating the case and discovers that there are a few suspects who might have wanted Brian dead. The first is Brian's ex-girlfriend, who's been harassing him ever since he broke up with her. The second is a competitor in the bed and breakfast industry, who might have wanted to eliminate the competition.
As Shannon digs deeper into the case, she discovers that Brian's death wasn't a random act of violence but a well-planned murder. Someone had framed Kate for the crime and made it look like a botched robbery. Shannon starts piecing together the clues and realizes that the answer to the case might be lying in the home's dark history.
Shannon uncovers that the previous owner of the house was a well-respected artist, who had committed suicide in the house twenty years earlier. Shannon learns that Brian was killed because he had found a painting in the house, which could have been worth a fortune. He had planned to sell it to raise the funds to finish his bed and breakfast project.
As the days pass, Shannon gets closer to unveiling the killer's identity. In a dramatic and intense climax, Shannon confronts the real killer and solves the case. The entire film is filled with suspense and mystery as Shannon races against time to prove Kate's innocence and bring the killer to justice.
